Optimize Results with Effective Negotiation Skills

Negotiation is a critical part of achieving outcomes. Our success as mental health and human services professionals often depends on our ability to negotiate with individuals and groups.

In this negotiation training program, you will gain insight into principled negotiation; the value of leveraging negotiating strategies for better outcomes; and, how other mental health professionals are using these skills to drive growth and change. We will use a group exercise for you to identify and refine your personal negotiating style as well as to improve your ability to bargain successfully and ethically in any situation. Key objectives for this course include the following:

  • Identify the purpose of negotiation

  • Recognize the importance of having good negotiation skills

  • Understand the mechanics of negotiation

  • Use negotiation tactics effectively

  • Negotiate effectively with a variety of people to achieve goals and reach mutually beneficial agreements

* Social Workers: These programs are Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886719437-0) for 6 Social Work continuing education contact hours. This course is pending approval.
* Psychologists: Maryland COMAR 10.36.02.06. 06 Authorized Sponsors. The following organization and its approved CE sponsors are authorized sponsors of continuing education acceptable to the Board: National Association of Social Workers. These activities are approved for continuing education by the DC Board of Psychology.

What is the refund policy?

To receive a transfer credit to a future workshop of equal or lesser value only, cancellations must be made between 72 hours prior to the start date of workshop.

Any cancellations made less than 72 hours of the start date of workshop will be eligible only for a transfer and a $50 transfer fee to a future workshop of equal or lesser value.
