What is a free walking tour?
There are hundreds of free walking tours all over the world. It's a fun, inexpensive and popular way to see and learn about a city. They all work on the principle of guests making a voluntary contribution or paying what they feel the tour is worth.
How come it's free? What's the catch?
The ONLY funding we get is from guest contributions. Our guides aren't paid and they work hard to make your experience with us enjoyable, so if you do enjoy the tour PLEASE be generous. But if you're not having fun you're more than welcome to drop out (after letting the guide know of course :-) - or even leave at the end without making ANY contribution. If you can find a better deal than that let us know. Because we haven't!
Do I have to register here? Can't I just show up for the tour?
You MUST register here to come on this tour. We don't accept walk-ups.
Is there a tour minimum? If I'm the only person who shows up, is the tour cancelled?
We have a 4 person tour minimum. If fewer than 4 people sign up we'll email you you to tell you that it's cancelled. If only 1-3 people show up for the tour though we'll still run a tour especially for you! However in this case we ask that guests make a $20 per person contribution before the tour starts. But don't worry - if you end up hating the tour we'll give you a FULL refund at the end. If you don't want to contribute in advance we can definitely recommend things to do in the area.
What if it's raining?
We always show up for our tours! No matter what the weather looks like the guide will be there and a decision will be made at the start time if it's possible to go ahead with the tour or not.
What are my transport/parking options to get to the tour?
The Metro Red Line station Hollywood and Vine is directly opposite the Pantages Theatre.
There are several parking lots in the area.
