Heart Blossoming Series Part 2: Yin Yoga - Free event!
Event Information
About this event
During this 1 hour of yoga, we will experience a yin yoga practice designed with different poses to open the heart that will help us bring peace and tranquility mentally and physically. In yin yoga, we will be holding gentle yoga poses for 2-3 minutes so this is designed as a relaxing practice. In each pose, we will explore a different aspect of the heart by using visual imagery and symbolism.
Amanda is a registered nurse who enjoys exploring yoga, art, meditation, and journaling. She credits her yoga and meditation practice with the ability to give her strength to perform well at work. Amanda discovered the ability to tap into your heart space and notice the emotions present through conversation with one of her yoga mentors and her years of yoga experiences.
This will be the 5th event that Amanda has helped lead with the Houston International Jaycees to promote people's mental health and positives through yoga and meditation.

To help support nurses like Amanda, we are collecting donations for the Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses, a non-profit fundraiser run by American Nurse Foundation. If you can donate $5, we will help support nurses, like Amanda, during this difficulty times. Your admission ticket is free.
The Fund has four focus areas, which are based on information they received from tens of thousands of responses to the ANA COVID-19 survey, people’s town halls, and outreach from nurses to the ANA as well as state nursing associations. In addition to addressing the needs of nurses, the Fund is an opportunity for the public to support and show gratitude through a text-to-give campaign, individual giving and corporate donations.
