As a laboratory researcher, students will be required to meet the high demands of managing deadlines, projects, personnel, and themselves. In addition, students will be required to meet the wide range demands of both their academic studies and life outside of school. These strenuous standards will expose students to new forms of stress requiring unorthodox skills and perspectives typically not taught through high school or common course criteria.
Aiming at assisting students with their everyday work life in and outside their research lab, this workshop will teach participants the ABCs of maintaining a “happy” life while in college. This will include stress management, conflict resolution, focusing on self-care, a philosophical approach to happiness, and other topics.
