As a former athlete, sports medicine specialist David Phillips knows how important it is to get proper nutrition for fitness. Proper nutrition helped Dr. Phillips in his triathlon training to conquer the Ironman World Championships.

With the combination of his training and his research, he was able to fully understand how nutrition affects exercise physiology.

In high school, David was a star athlete. He was a twelve-time Prep School Swimming All-American at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, and the National Prep School Champion in the 100-yard backstroke. He was also an All-American swimmer at Harvard University, his collegiate alma mater, where he earned academic honors before graduating in 1984.

It’s evident that from an early age, David Phillips has always been passionate about athletics.

He was also passionate about the concept of healing people, which is why he became a doctor. He earned a medical degree in 1989 from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, where he was elected to the prestigious national Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Doors open at 6:30. Lecture begins at 7:00.
