WHY SKY PRACTICE?

HSKY Breathing Meditation is a unique and powerful practice that reduces stress by deeply resting and rejuvenating the mind. Meditation practices in general have shown to improve wellness, reduce anxiety, and increase energy, but not all practices bring the same results because techniques vary in methods and goals.

SKY COURSE OVERVIEW

SKY practice builds peace of mind and restores wellness and joy in life. Unlike other types of practice, SKY does not require directing or controlling the mind or watching thoughts or the breath.
Deep meditation is natural but the mind resists quieting down so a skill is needed. SKY practice rejuvenates and heals the system much more than relaxation or watching thoughts. SKY makes deep meditation simple, easy and consistently more effective. SKY is:

  • Natural, easy and quick to learn and practice, even beginners see results immediately.

  • Provides high-yield benefits with minimal time investment.

  • Unique and powerful, unlike any other form of breathing practice.

  • Brings rejuvenation far beyond simple relaxation.

  • Settles the mind to the deepest, silent state of pure awareness without effort.

SKY does more than meditation alone in the way the breath spontaneously dissolves emotional stress. SKY is practiced for only 10 minutes and lets one slip into deep meditation without thinking about it. After SKY practice you can remain sitting in an effortless, deep meditative rest.

The workshop also includes Mindfulness training to consciously reframe common negative tendencies of the mind that reduce our happiness and cause more drama & conflicts with others.

Those who already meditate can benefit by adding 10 min. of SKY at the beginning of their routine to quiet thoughts to stillness automatically.

RESEARCH

Over 70 research studies on SKY show a wide range of significant wellness outcomes. SKY practitioners demonstrate enhanced mental focus, social connection, joy, optimism, and life satisfaction. Research has shown enhanced cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine and immune function; increased antioxidant production; improved emotion regulation, reduced anxiety and depression; EEG evidence of restful alertness in brain activity; and epigenetic changes in cellular gene expression.

SCHEDULE

Workshops include ten hours taught in 3 sessions. Continuous support includes facilitator guided 1.5 hour weekly practice sessions in most locations. Periodic weekend silence retreats focus for 3 days on more intensive meditation practice for deeper renewal.

COST

The workshop fee is $395; students & retired seniors $295. Grants and scholarships are based on financial need. SKY is taught by certified teachers through a nonprofit organization with the goal of making SKY practice available to everyone.
