Speaker:

Dr Tony Dale, founder of Sedera Health and The Karis Group

Dr. Tony Dale is a third generation British family doctor, who has spent the past 20 years fully engaged in American health care economics. Tony trained at the world famous Barts Hospital (London), more formally known as the Royal and Ancient Hospital of St. Bartholomew, established in 1123. Immigrating with his wife and four children to the United States in 1987, he unexpectedly found himself re-focusing on American health care economics following his own brush with the American medical system when he needed knee surgery. Since then the companies that he has founded have negotiated billions of dollars of medical bills, navigated millions of people through the health care system, and more recently begun providing entirely new approaches to group medical care. Tony is well situated to help us think through the complexities of current health systems costs structures, and to help us take practical steps to engaging with the health care system in such a way as to bring medical costs back under control.

The Karis Group was established by Dr. Dale in 1996 to help people who were facing unexpected medical bills in a context where they had more bill than they had benefit. Now serving more than a million people Nationwide, Karis is well known in the insurance world for the loving care they provide to people through their health care navigation teams. In 2014, a second company, Sedera, was spun out to work with the group market on innovative ways of handling health care costs outside of the classic insurance models.
