Join us to learn more about two health strategies we can use in our work with mothers and others struggling with opioid addiction.

Breastfeeding and Mothers being Treated for Addiction--what should we recommend? Dr. Jim Walsh, Director of Swedish Addiction Recovery Service, brings information about the safety of breastfeeding for mothers in treatment. He will also be speaking about the role of methadone and buprenorphine in addiction treatment.

Stop an Overdose, Save a Life: Cleo Harris, Alcohol & Other Drugs Treatment Specialist with Snohomish County Human Services, will provide an overview of naloxone and how it is used in Snohomish County to stop overdoses.

Note: There will be an extended discussion about naloxone afterwards from 10:15-11:00 for those who want to learn more. Cleo Harris will provides more details on administering naloxone, as well as answer questions from those interested in more about this strategy.
