Prevention and early detection are the key to maintaining good health as we age. According to the National Council on Aging, approximately 92% of older adults have at least one chronic disease, and 77% have at least two. This presentation will focus on recommended screening schedules and prevention of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer. Which screenings and immunizations are necessary? When? How often? All of these questions will be addressed throughout the presentation. In addition, the presenters will discuss the changes in nutritional needs, physical activity, safety in the home, and general wellness tips.
