Health Literacy for Assisters

This popular training helps assisters understand common insurance terms and how they relate to different types of health insurance plans available to Minnesotans. It also helps give assisters clear language they can use when explaining these terms to their clients.

Participants attending this session will:

  • Understand the different types of health insurance coverage available in MN
  • Learn common insurance terms related to different forms of coverage in MN and how to talk about these terms with clients
  • Get tools to support clients in not only enrolling in health coverage but understanding how to use it
  • Learn tips for helping clients renew and maintain their coverage

Approved for 2 continuing education units by the MN Board of Social Work

All participants will receive training materials and helpful guides along with access to Assister Connect, Portico’s exclusive moderated forum for assisters to share questions, experiences, and best practices.

Registration and check-in begins at 8:30. Program will begin promptly at 9:00.

Please park in the Spruce Tree Centre parking lot. Parking validation will be provided.
