Roman Diaz is President at TouchStone Compliance LLC. He is a recognized exceptional Software Development Director with 15+ years experience in computer technology, software R&D, computer systems and the commercial software industry. Reputed strength is in getting difficult projects to deliver on time, on quality. Enjoy creating, staffing, and managing diverse, multi-located, high-performance product (software) teams.

Julian Nunez is a Human Factors and User Experience Engineer who works as a designer and developer on BD Unified Product Standards to drive a consistent user experience across all BD software and hardware products. Julian also works as a Human Factors Engineer for infusion, in which he helps lead user research and data analysis for new products. Julian knows the importance of user feedback in design, and has merged the two roles of design/development and human factors, to help drive the standard of safe, usable, and consistent products here at BD. Julian has supported the design and user research for BD Alaris™ and also helped create a more user friendly form of training. Julian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University.

Katie Parizek is an RN with 9 years of experience in medical-surgical and psychiatric nursing as well as primary care and ambulatory clinic management. She served over 6 years on Active Duty as a nurse in the U.S. Navy and now continues her service in the U.S. Navy Reserves. She will graduate in May 2020 with a Master’s of Science in Nursing Informatics from the University of San Diego. She works full-time as a Clinical Software Quality Analyst at CliniComp, Intl. in San Diego, CA.

Josh Wymer is Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at US Navy NMC, San Diego. He has more than 22 years of healthcare experience across clinical and leadership positions, including combat support, clinical services, nursing services, surgical services, and health information technology (HIT). He is a principal HIT leader in the San Diego region for a wide ranging portfolio that includes the implementation, sustainment, and optimization of a single-instance electronic health record (EHR) solution. Mr. Wymer’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Project Management from Granite State College, a Master of Arts with an emphasis in Enterprise Strategic Planning from the US Naval War College, and a Master of Science in Nursing-Health Care Informatics from the University of San Diego. He maintains board certifications in Nursing Informatics (RN-BC) and Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS).

Moderator

Regina Atim, PharmD, is an associate professor of clinical informatics at University of San Diego, and Human Factors pharmacist at BD. She is also Chair of Academic Alliance of the HIMSS SoCal Chapter, and the owner of Clinicians Touch Healthcare Solutions, which provides EHR and regulatory compliance support to clients.
