Event description

Description

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a major health problem in the State of Georgia. In case you are not aware, Georgia ranks second with this health problem plaguing our residents through kidney failure. Persons with hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and those taking psychotropic drugs are at highest risk of developing this disease. This disease affects not only our adults, but our children. What can we do to have a more informed community about our health?

Who should attend? Everyone in the community is invited to attend this event to hear the information and ask questions that you may not feel comfortable asking your physician. Are you eating foods that are kidney-friendly? Patients, caregivers, clinicians, community members, family members, and health advocates are invited to join NAACP leaders and a panel of experts to learn more about the disease, how to live a productive life with the disease, and how to access home dialysis treatment options.

Come out and learn how to live a more productive life by learning how to take care of your health or the health of others. Screenings and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Door Prizes. There is limited seating, so please register through Eventbrite.
