Event description

Description

In part IV, we turn to looking at strategies for meaningful and respectful community engagement. We will examine the following questions: What are the different strategies used in working for social change while engaging with communities directly impacted by inequities? What is the difference between social services, advocacy, activism and organizing? What are the basic steps in community organizing as a method? How do you respectfully engage community members? How do you build on-going relationships and support the leadership that already exists within communities? How do you engage community members in a meaningful consultation method that goes deeper than gathering "community input"? This will be an interactive session with role-playing and practice.
