The Texas Tribune is pleased to present, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, a new three-part conversation series on where the state is headed on health care.
Join us in person or on our livestream for the first installment of this series: a discussion on health care and the 84th Legislature. Tribune CEO and Editor-in-Chief Evan Smith will moderate.
Our panelists are:
- State Rep. Donna Howard, D-Austin, a former critical care nurse
- State Rep. Susan King, R-Abilene, a practicing surgical nurse
- State Rep. J.D. Sheffield, R-Gatesville, a practicing medical doctor
This event will be held in the Pestana Lecture Hall (Lecture Hall 3.104) of the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Complimentary parking will be available in Visitor Lot 8. The event is free and open to the public and includes a complimentary lunch.
The conversation will also be livestreamed at texastribune.org/livestream (starting at noon), and the video will be accessible for viewing afterward.
Our Conversation Series features in-depth discussions with prominent elected officials and newsmakers moderated by Evan Smith, CEO and editor-in-chief, and other expert journalists from The Texas Tribune. Each free event features refreshments, networking and audience question-and-answer time.
This series of conversations on health care is generously sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. This first conversation in the series is also presented in partnership with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Tribune events are also supported through contributions from our founding investors and members.
