Event Details

Research shows an undeniable link between childhood adversity and community crises, such as poverty, crime, poor educational outcomes, chronic illness, behavioral health problems and more. Through collaboration within the human services, healthcare, educational and criminal justice sectors, Wisconsin is at the forefront of the trauma informed care (TIC) movement.

Join us in Milwaukee, Sept. 26-28, 2018 for Healing Trauma, Healthy Communities.

Hosted by Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee (SWIM), a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to inspiring collaboration to help Milwaukee heal.

About the Event

If you work in any human serving capacity, this conference is for you. If you want to understand how a city like Milwaukee can heal from generational and historical trauma, it's for you too.

Our time together begins with a Community Gathering on Race and Trauma on Wed. evening at the Fiserv Forum; (new home of the Milwaukee Bucks) and continues with five keynotes and 50 workshops on Thurs. and Fri. at the Wisconsin Center.

Community Gathering on Race and Trauma - Fiserv Forum (Bucks' Arena)

Wed, Sept. 26, 6 p.m.

Join leaders from Milwaukee’s social justice, advocacy and faith-based communities for a community gathering. The new Fiserv Forum is at the heart of the city's revitalization and so it's fitting we should gather there to begin two days of Healing Trauma. Free and open to the public (ticket required).
