Event description

Description

Join us for a special hike on lands that are healing from the October 2017 fires. We'll experience the greening of the charred landscape and look for fire-follower flowers with experts from the Sonoma Ecology Center and Teri Shore, Greenbelt Alliance North Bay Field Director.

LEADERS
Teri Shore and Caitlin Cornwall

TOTAL DISTANCE
This is a moderate hike of about 3-1/2 miles with an elevation gain of about 500 feet.

WEATHER POLICY
Rain cancels.

WHERE TO MEET
We'll assemble near the main parking lot for Sonoma Valley Regional Park.

NOTES
Bring water, lunch, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Bring poles if you normally use them. You may wish to bring binoculars. The walk will be on both paved paths and single track trails, so be prepared for mud. There is a $7 per vehicle park entrance fee. If you have any questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or phone him at 415-543-6771 x321.
