Featuring nationally recognized guest speakers including local experts from the Heart & Vascular Center at Cottage Health.

AUDIENCE:

This symposium is designed for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians in training, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, family practice/internal medicine physicians, hospitalists, physician assistants, cardiology technologists, and other healthcare practitioners involved in the care planning of patients with cardiovascular disease.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Summarize the diagnosis, care and management of pulmonary hypertension

  • Incorporate the role of nutrition in the prevention of cardiac disease

  • Examine the impact of technology innovations in structural heart, cardiac imaging and electrophysiology cases

  • Examine the current evaluation and treatment of patients with aortic and mitral valve disease

  • Reflect on the impact of cardiovascular disease from the patients perspective

  • Evaluate the contemporary management of patients with chronic ischemic disease and stable angina

  • Review the latest management of patients with heart failure, including LVAD and transplant
