Healing the Heart 2019: First Annual Cardiology Symposium of the Central Coast by Cottage Health

Featuring nationally recognized guest speakers including local experts from the Heart & Vascular Center at Cottage Health.

The Heart and Vascular Center at Cottage Health is a hospital-physician led initiative established to focus on cardiovascular conditions and treatments across the full continuum of care. Through a shared vision of perfecting outcomes, it is our goal to deliver the highest value-based care to the patient by incorporating evidenced-based practices and applying resources judiciously.

Audience

This symposium is designed for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians in training, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, family practice/internal medicine physicians, hospitalists, physician assistants, cardiology technologists, and other healthcare practitioners involved in the care planning of patients with cardiovascular disease.

Course Objectives

  • Differentiate female heart disease versus male heart disease and appropriate treatment plans
  • Examine the impact of technology disrupters in structural heart, cardiac imaging and electrophysiology cases
  • Summarize the diagnosis, care, and management of adult congenital heart disease
  • Integrate patient criteria for minimally invasive surgical repair and replacement of each disease state
  • Apply cardiac implications in the evaluation of exercise and the athletic heart
  • Review model management of post-op ICU
  • Review the anatomical structures involved in interventional and surgical repair of the heart
