Event description

Description

The most important question for those contemplating registering for this 5-day endeavor is:

"Do you long to recover your creative self?"

Are you aware that there is so much more to who you are than what you show the world on a daily basis? Are you someone who needs a safe container in order to drop inside of yourself, to make space for "not knowing" what will emerge, and to discover the fresh spring of aliveness and creativity within you?

Are you someone who has been impacted by childhood verbal, physical, sexual abuse and/or neglect? Are you an adult who was ridiculed, shamed, or put down by bullying peers during your elementary or middle school years? Or, have you experienced an abusive adult relationship where you were shamed often and repetitively? As a result of these types of chronic relational dynamics, one might hide away - deep within - aspects of their creativity in order to minimize exposure leading to being shaming or injured. Shaming is a two person dynamic, when one person denounces another and, in no uncertain terms, communicating "who you are is bad and unworthy". This is quite different than having experienced guilt, where the message offered is "your behavior is bad". The impact of having been shamed is toxic, no matter how you look at it. It's devisive, corrosive, and at times extremely debilitating to one's self-expression.

Christine Donohue, MFT, SEP is thrilled, excited, and honored to offer this breakthrough 5-day retreat! A previous Creative Arts Director at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Christine is priviledged to create a safe, caring, welcoming, and warm environment for you to embark upon an "inner soul retrieval" experience. Come join us - those who long to heal aspects of trauma and shame which have kept your creativity captive - in a sacred container of support, healing, and complete welcoming of your gifts.

As a trauma specialist, and someone who continues to reclaim her own torrent of creativity, Christine creates a space that is similar to what has helped her to tap into and reclaim her own creative expression. This is sacred work and nothing less than a sacred space will be provided.

No experience necessary. No prior creative expression required. A longing to tap into the uncharted inner territory of yourself is required.

Come with your longing and willingness to join a process that will attune to your individual pacing needs. Christine will lead you through several deep embodiment experiential journeys which will support you to express yourself from a place of profound connection within. The environment will be structured for individual expression of visual, movement, or expressive art as well as one or two collective co-creations with the entire group.
