Description

What is the healing session series?
This healing session series will use expressive arts and community building structures to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of self for individuals dealing with oppression and disenfrachisement related to current events happening in our country.

What is the purpose?
Participants will be able to learn and utilize mindfulness/movement structures for the purpose of self-grounding, tension release, elevated mood, mood stability, learn ways to explore and express feelings, verbally and nonverbally, enhance a positive sense of well being and be a part of an empowering community of people
How can I attend?
Every Saturday
The session begins at 10:15am, Each Session is from 10:15am – 11:00am
All participants should come dressed in comfortable clothing.
Bring a notebook and something to write with (Pencil/Pen).
Monetary Donations are accepted of $5 or what participants are able to give.
All proceeds will go to the Healing Session Series.

More about Queenlin:

Queenlin (Lindsay Howard) is a Maryland native currently living in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. This dancer, choreographer, teacher artist and creative arts therapist has been trained in Afro-modern and Contemporary dance styles for over 10 years. She has performed and exhibited works for venues such as the American Dance Festival, the Urban Bush Women Dance Company Summer Institute, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and the Makeda Thomas: Roots and Movement Summer Intensive in Trinidad & Tobago. In 2013, Queenlin has received her Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy with Dance/Movement Therapy concentration. Today, she is utilizing her passion in the Washington DC area to develop sanctuary model approaches to creative arts therapy. Queenlin is always advocating for the performing arts and the healing arts promoting the benefits to health, wellness, therapeutic expression, resilience and community empowerment.
