Dr. William Goodman, Chief Medical Officer at CMC, provides an overview of the current state of the opioid crisis – and what’s being done to combat it – in New Hampshire.

Bernadette Gleeson, recovery innovator, speaker, and educator, shares a motivational and inspirational story of how light, and the abundance of such, initiated and sustained her long-term recovery.

Survivors in recovery along with recovery educator Bernadette Gleeson and social worker Meredith Senter, LICSW of CMC’s The Mom’s Place and Pregnancy Care Center take part in an honest discussion about recovery through their experiences, moderated by former NECN reporter and CMC spokeswoman Lauren Collins-Cline.

Coming into the Light: Breaking the Stigma of Substance Use Disorders (presented by Hope for New Hampshire Recovery)
Christopher Dorval, MSW, LCSW, of the Brown University School of Public Health New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center, will help participants identify and use strengths-based language to reduce stigma associated with substance use disorders. This workshop will also help participants conceptualize the factors that influence stigma associated with substance use disorders and their consequences and be able to discuss targets and interventions aimed at addressing stigma associated with substance use.

Trauma Informed Care
Evidence shows a strong link between early childhood trauma and adult addiction. Learn about how trauma and addiction are intertwined, and gain awareness about how your understanding and approach with a trauma informed lens can serve the people you serve.

Facilitating Behavior Change with Effective Listening and Solution-Focused Dialogue
Learn about the benefits of deep listening, how to slow your own thoughts, be present and engage with others. Learn about how your own responses, questions and even assumptions can facilitate a belief and behavior change in another person. Begin to identify how you can apply these strategies in your work in addiction and through recovery.
