Event description
PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING TALKSHOP for BLACK WOMEN: An afternoon of reflection, connection, activity & refreshment.

About this Event

PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING TALKSHOP

Was colourism present in your family when you were growing up? Was it recognised by you or those around you? Did you see any effects? Were the issues ever resolved?

It’s time to Talk Black and have open discussion on how these factors influenced us and those around us. What attitudes were promoted, what feelings were suppressed? This is a chance for personal reflection and an opportunity to share stories and feelings. It's a step towards laying down emotional baggage that we may not even be aware we are carrying, but which affect overall emotional wellbeing. Listen to discussion and contribute your experiences in a safe and intimate environment with Sunday afternoon refreshments.

The talkshop will kick-off with an opening by Sharon Frazer-Carroll: founder of Time To Talk Black, Senior Lecturer in Counselling & Psychology at the Open University, Psychoanalytic Counsellor & specialist in Transgenerational Trauma. The afternoon will progress with managed small group discussion and activities. Join us for the 1st of our events at Tottenham Hale and lets delve deep into an afternoon of exploration, connection and psychic liberation.
