Event description

Description

So many of us work tirelessly for the wellbeing of our family and community.

No matter if you're a social entreprenuer, activist, advocate or are working in an organization to make powerful positive change in Baltimore City... you matter and WE NEED YOU!

The reality is... often times, our commitment to Justice, Liberation and Love for community goes a little too far... and we end up more angry, stressed out or disconnected.

In 2018, let's do it different! Let's pour into ourselves, heal our hearts and learn some skills so we can do this work for the long haul.

YOU DESERVE IT, SO JOIN US!

What is "Healing BMore Activists?"

In short, Healing BMore Activists is a community initiative, fueled by Shawna Murray-Browne's Elevation Award (See Baltimore Corp) for Baltimore's Black/Brown Activists/Changemakers/Social Justice Warriors. We plan to host at least 4 healing spaces for 2 hours each, in a community based location. The healing spaces ARE FREE and will include food, and support for transportation. (Beginning February 14 2018)

We will explore:

-- Miind-Body tools for self led healing (movement, mindfulness)

-- New outlook to overcome the realities of racism and oppression in the work

-- What it means to be well in community

-- ways to Destigmatize mental health and wellness

HELP US MAKE THIS GREAT: FIll out our survey! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScNTYskQYdgrBx5LQckkkTRIqK0tMs8_b2P_Ki9BZV28RLPhw/viewform

We hope that through this we will also garner insight from our city trailblazers about what mental health practitioners must know to better serve. The Kindred Wellness team will take this insight and apply it to a streamlined training for local mental health therapists in Summer 2018.
