Description

The prevalence of trauma among Black LGBTQ people is widespread but is not often discussed as it relates to sexual health, agency, and love. The Black LGBTQ community experiences greater levels of early adverse childhood experiences as well as social and political discrimination that has dire consequences on their mental, physical, emotional, and sexual health. This event will focus on providing tools for Black LGBTQ people to address their intersecting traumas & provide tools for journeying toward healing.

By the end of the community event, people will have:

1. An Understanding 3 Different Healing Modalities to Address Trauma
2. Operational Definitions of Intersecting Traumas
3. List Common Dynamics of IPV related Sexual Risk and HIV Risk
4. Tools to Identify IPV in the Black LGBTQ Community in Baltimore
5. 3 Strategies for Effective and Healthy Communication in Black LGBTQ Relationships
6. Operational Framework for Reconceptualizing Black LGBTQ Understanding of Love
