About the Healing Arts Kits

Artists 4 Israel's mission is to save children from the devastating effects of trauma, conflict and crisis through ground-breaking arts-based psychological aid delivered immediately as needed. Kits are distributed in the immediate aftermath of traumatic events, reaching the most vulnerable population - children - during that critical timeframe.

The Healing Arts Kits are an emergency, psychological first aid kit and a groundbreaking therapeutic system that is the only chance to slow or stop the onset of new cases of post-traumatic stress disorder in children living through rocket fire, terrorist attack or other forms of crises. It includes a series of activities that can soothe and help heal the unseen scars of trauma.

In certain areas of Israel, more than 50% of children are suffering from PTSD. This disorder leads to heightened levels of criminal behavior and violence, lower social and academic achievement, increased depression and suicide and other behaviors that destroy the social fabric of a community. Imagine a society where 50% of children will grow up this way. There is no cure for PTSD but, now, there is prevention.

Artists 4 Israel’s Healing Arts Kits, designed by a team of psychiatrists, emergency first- responders, art therapists, artists, teachers, and parents, combine the most recent research and best practices in dance, drama, play, and art therapy, as well as the input of caregivers and on- the-ground medical personnel.

WATCH this video for more information on how your attendance at this event helps to heal children suffering from the effects of PTSD.
