About this Event

Conflict is a normal, inevitable part of interacting with other people, and yet it makes many of us so uncomfortable. Difficult conversations at work can be especially challenging for women when they feel pressure to be likable or accommodate others. So how can we better understand and become more comfortable with conflict at work so that we can more confidently stand our ground while strengthening relationships with colleagues?

Join us for a live taping of Harvard Business Review’s award-winning Women at Work podcast at Harvard Business School's Klarman Hall.

Women at Work host Amy Gallo is an expert on conflict and difficult conversations. Along with her co-hosts, Amy Bernstein and Nicole Torres, and special guest Linda Hill, we will discuss different types of workplace conflict, how to manage your emotions, and how to move on. The hosts will also take questions from the audience.

Linda A. Hill is the Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and chair of the Leadership Initiative. Hill is regarded as one of the top experts on leadership. Professor Hill is the co-author of Collective Genius: The Art and Practice of Leading Innovation, co-founder of Paradox Strategies, and co-creator of the Innovation Quotient. She was named by Thinkers50 as one of the top ten management thinkers in the world in 2013 and received the Thinkers50 Innovation Award in 2015.

Women at Work episodes take on some of the knottiest problems women encounter in the workplace. The hosts interview experts on gender, explore research, tell stories, and give plenty of practical advice to help people succeed in spite of obstacles.
