Six by Sondheim takes a look at the prolific career of renowned Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, whose landmark musicals include "West Side Story," "Gypsy," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Company," "Sweeney Todd," "Sunday in the Park with George" and "Into the Woods." The definitive story of his life and work, the film highlights Sondheim's experiences writing six signature songs: "Something's Coming," "Opening Doors," "Send in the Clowns," "I'm Still Here," "Being Alive" and "Sunday." New performances by such stars as Audra McDonald, Jarvis Cocker, Darren Criss, Jeremy Jordan, America Ferrera and Sondheim himself have been produced exclusively for the feature documentary. Directed by Tony Award-winner James Lapine, with musical segments directed by Todd Haynes, Autumn de Wilde and James Lapine.  Produced by Liz Stanton.  Executive Produced by James Lapine and Frank Rich. Debuts exclusively on HBO December 9, 2013.
