The HBCU Career Development Marketplace Career Fair is one part of the larger HBCU Career Development Marketplace conference, designed to inform and educate top undergraduate and graduate students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities on developing careers in their fields of study.
Students are vetted to attend the full conference through their school’s career directors and they must have at least a 3.2 GPA to be eligible to attend. This year 19 HBCUs will attend the HBCU Career Development Marketplace, with an estimated 500 students. The conference is comprised of Town Hall Sessions, where students have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with experienced HBCU alumni from various professions, providing informative career-specific advice. The Town Hall speakers come from an array of industries such as business, education, medical, law, engineering, law enforcement, accounting, visual and performing arts, and various U.S. government agencies and branches of the U.S. military.
Although the students have already been chosen to participate in the full conference, the Career Fair portion is free and open to all local HBCU students who RSVP here. This Expo provides the opportunity to meet with corporations and government organizations who are exhibiting and seeking to meet HBCU students. Please show your student ID together with the ticket at the HBCU Career Development Marketplace.

The HBCU Career Development Marketplace Inc. is centered around a national conference designed to inform and educate new entrants into the workforce about corporate America. During this national conference, students attend a series of workshops about what to expect after graduating and how to effectively begin a career, speak face-to-face with experienced HBCU alumni from many different professions, and gain access to representatives from corporations, organizations and government agencies seeking to hire talented students. The event is primarily focused on giving them the opportunities to practice marketing themselves to potential employers and make connections that could lead to the beginning of their career.
