About this event
MISSION & BACKGROUND: The Huntington Beach Human Relations Committee (HBHRC) inspires and promotes mutual understanding, respect, safety and the wellbeing of all in our community through education and engagement. The Huntington Beach community-wide effort to promote human dignity is an important element in building a better community. In support of this mission, we present multiple events throughout the year that bring the community together.
SHOWCASE: We host a series of cultural cinema showcases each year in celebration of Black History Month, Asian Pacific Heritage Month, National Hispanic Month, and Native American Heritage Month. Using the arts as a bridge, we curate and select a variety of short films - narrative genre, documentary, animation, web/new media/experimental, and super shorts (3 minutes or less) - to share with the local community and abroad!
This event is warmly hosted by volunteers. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Your contribution supports the many programs we offer to the community to fulfill our mission to inspire and promote mutual understanding, respect, safety and the wellbeing of all in our community through education and engagement.
Prior to your selected screening(s) premiere date, a private link will be sent to you via email which will allow you to view the films included within the selected viewing block.
