The Minimum Wage: Hawaii's Realities and Lessons from other Cities

Come and learn more about the effort to raise the minimum wage. How has it worked in other cities? How might it affect you?

Special Guests: Senator Russell Ruderman and Nicole Woo from Appleseed Center for Law and Economic Justice

Senator Russell Ruderman is both a businessman and a legislator. He will share insights from running his own business, Island Naturals Markets, on Hawaii Island. Nicole Woo from Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law and Economic Justice will explain why this effort matters in the context of Hawaii's high cost of living and the challenge of homelessness. They will also share lessons learned from other cities like Seattle and New York.
