Event description

Description

This Haku Lei Making workshop for adults is a great intro to Hawaiian art and culture. Students will learn the basics of lei making and the different lei-making techniques such as wili/wrapping and create their own unique leis. The lei is a popular symbol of Hawaiian culture - to give or receive a lei shows love, friendship, and the eternal spirit of Aloha.

Our haku instructor is Ola'a Hanohano-Inere, the 5th generation of 90-year-old Rachel's Lei stand, located at the Daniel K Inouye International Airport. Rachel's Lei stand was founded back in the 1930's by her great-grandmother and now Ola'a continues her family legacy of lei making.

Cost: $45 (+tax) per person inclusive of materials If you have any questions please contact us at info@theartlofthi.com
