The Compassionate Friends Honolulu Chapter Grief Conference

About this event

The Compassionate Friends Hawaii Regional Grief Conference 2022 - "Grief is the expression of Love for the one you lost ~ Let's Heal Together"

The Honolulu Chapter of The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is proud to host Hope, Healing and Aloha: Hawaii Regional Grief Conference 2022. With a lineup of prominent speakers on the subject of grief and healing, this conference presents an opportunity for our Hawaii community to experience a TCF conference in our own backyard. We also welcome with open arms those who reside outside of our great state and encourage you to join us for this important conference while spending time in Hawaii. No matter where we come from, we all share a desire to better understand and cope with the loss of our loved ones and the grief that subsequently entered our lives.

Beyond the wonderful speakers and workshops, we trust you will benefit from the opportunity to meet and connect with others who are experiencing the same indescribable pain. There is a great measure of comfort that we find in sharing our common experiences of loss. The conference will feature workshops on all aspects of grief, including on child loss and sibling loss. All the speakers have presented at TCF National Conferences and have made a big impact on those seeking hope. To view the Conference Flyer, click here.

Our conference also presents a unique opportunity for the professional community in Hawaii and beyond. Physicians, therapists, counselors and any professional helping patients suffering through grief can gain invaluable insights from these prominent national speakers.

Please take a moment to read through the Speaker Bios and Workshops for additional information about their backgrounds and presentation topics. Click here to read the presenter's bios and workshops. There is something of interest for everyone, no matter where you are on your grief journey. Click here to view the Workshop Schedule.

Hope, Healing and Aloha: Hawaii Regional Grief Conference 2022 will be held on March 18, 2022 (Friday) and March 19, 2022 (Saturday). The conference will be held at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu. The Ala Moana Hotel is next to Ala Moana Shopping Center and is a few blocks from the edge of Waikiki. Room rate for the Waikiki Tower Ocean View is $177.00 for single/double occupancy (plus porterage, excise tax and accommodation tax). These are excellent rates for this location in Honolulu. Ala Moana Hotel has created a dedicated website where hotel reservations for this event can be made. (This is separate from conference registration.) The new secure website to book a hotel room is: https://book.passkey.com/event. Upon registering you will be asked for specific information, but you will not be charged until you check out. We encourage you to reserve your hotel rooms as early as possible as we have a limited number of rooms available at these reduced rates and anticipate they will sell out early.

Parking at Ala Moana Hotel: If you are an overnight guest at the hotel, parking rates are $30/night for Self Park and $35/night for valet. Daily rates are available for $6 for 8 hours or $8 for 10 hours, with validation stamp (provided at Conference). Entrance to the parking garage is off of Mahukona Street.

Our Closing Ceremony and lunch (available for purchase) will be on Saturday, March 19. Lunch is $40.00, but is not required in order to attend the Closing Ceremony. Wristbands will be used to identify those who purchased lunch. Lunch will be (1) one choice of three (3) entrees: Sauteed Mahimahi, Pulehu Steak, or a Vegetarian lunch: Grilled Vegetable Napoleon with Tomato Coulis will be available.
