Description

Havering Council's Children's and Adults with Disabilities team, and Commissioning team would like to invite local parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to a workshop where we will review Short Breaks in Havering.

Short Breaks form an essential part of the support provided by Havering to children and young people with SEND and their families. They are intended to have positive benefits for both children and young people with SEND and their families and can include day, evening, overnight, weekend or holiday activities in the home, a residential or community setting.

Havering Council would like to work with local children with SEND and their families to review the council's current Short Breaks offer, and co-produce recommendations for how we can improve the offer to local families.

In order to make sure that the Short Breaks available in Havering meet the needs of local children with SEND and their families, it is vital that the offer is designed by parents, children and families in collaboration with the council.

In this workshop we will ask you for your feedback on the Short Breaks available in Havering, and ask what you would like to be available to use as a Short Break. We will also review Short Breaks offers in other areas to see what could work in Havering.
