Event description

Description

Through funding from the National Historical Records and Publication Commission (NHPRC), the MA SHRAB will be holding a grant writing workshop in February 2018. This workshop is free and focused on representatives of Massachusetts cultural heritage institutions such as archives, museums, libraries, historical societies, and municipal clerks offices. We ask that each institution send only one representative so that we can maximize the number of institutions reached. Attendance is limited to 30 participants.

This workshop will be facilitated by a member of the MA SHRAB with extensive professional experience in writing and managing successful grants and reviewing grants submitted to multiple agencies, including the NHPRC.

Topics covered in these workshops include:
• An overview of the grant landscape
• Finding funding opportunities
• Conceiving and developing the project
• Understanding the grant-writing process
• The Review Process
• Grant Administration
• Exercise: Review of a successful NHPRC grant proposal

Lunch is on your own, but several restaurants are located in close vicinity to the Library.
