Event description

Description

Havana: A Photographic Story is a limited collection of images taken in Cuba by photographer Duane A. Lyken. This amazing collection captures and tells a story of a country frozen in time with Singer sewing machines, gorgeous classic cars and the weathered yet beautiful Spanish colonial buildings. You will experience the love, resilience and patriotism of the Cuban people. So come and see for yourself!

This is a fundraising event.

For a few years now Duane A. Lyken has partnered with MusicBeyond.org, a nonprofit organization that trains musicians to become music teachers in developing countries. Currently they are in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa. Kaori Fuji, a classically trained musician and founder of Music Beyond trains these local musicians to teach music to children and other members of their community to support the creation of self-sustained music programs, address the high unemployement rate and can possibly take a weapon out of one's hands, while placing an instrument in its place. All proceeds and/or donations will go towards his journey to Kinshasa, DRC so that he can continue to capture the essence of why Music Beyond's work is so important to further their own fundraising efforts.
