Hate Crime training for professionals

About this Event

National Hate Crime Awareness Week (NHCAW) encourages local authorities (Police and Councils), key partners and communities affected by hate crime to work together to tackle local hate crime. During this week, Haringey council would like to invite anyone working in the voluntary sector to learn more about Hate crime.

NHCAW aims to bring people together to stand in solidarity with those affected by hate crime, to remember those we have lost, and support those who need ongoing support. To educate to prevent hate crime.

Hate crime not only has a harmful effect on its victims by attacking who they are as individuals because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or transgender identity, but also on their families and communities.

This training gives professionals a chance to learn:

1. What constitutes a hate crime

2. The impact on individual, family and community

3. The support available for victims

4. The opportunity to become third party reporting sites to support victims
