Hosted by the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, HATCH ignites collaborative innovation, connecting problem solvers across disciplines to tackle challenges in the life sciences and inspire future breakthroughs. HATCH’s journey began in 2017, rapidly evolving into a pivotal event for biotech collaboration.
Since then, HATCH has been a launchpad for hundreds of students, developers, and entrepreneurs, igniting careers and a passion for leveraging science to improve life. Distinctively combining competition, education, and mentorship, HATCH nurtures a community dedicated to solving complex challenges creatively.
HATCH begins with participants choosing from curated challenges based on real-world problems in the life sciences spanning across genomics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and big data.
Experts from the local tech scene lead workshops, experienced mentors offer guidance, and professional speakers share insights as teams work to transform ideas into tangible solutions.
Projects are evaluated based on innovation, impact, and execution. The event culminates in an award ceremony celebrating the achievements of all, ensuring each participant comes home with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
