About this event

Harvest against Hunger 2022 image

On October 1st from 5-8pm, join us at our signature fall fundraising event, Harvest Against Hunger, in partnership with College of DuPage. Held at the Waterleaf Restaurant and Culinary Center in Glen Ellyn, this casual, interactive event celebrates the harvest of the season and our work improving the local food system.

All proceeds support The GardenWorks Project's spring 2023 programs and participants, directly improving access to fresh produce and promoting a more vibrant, inclusive and equitable food system.

At this one-of-a-kind event, guests will enjoy:

  • A creatively curated small plate meal showcasing local farms’ seasonal produce, inspired by favorite recipes from our GardenWorks clients;
  • Specialty garden inspired cocktails, local brews and mead from Two Hound Red (Glen Ellyn) and Standard Meadery (Villa Park);
  • Cocktail/mocktail and cooking demonstrations by the chefs and faculty of COD;
  • Live music and tours of the culinary campus and urban growing spaces
  • Stories of GardenWorks' impact on food security and access within our region
  • A parting gift of locally sourced farm product samples

The evening’s delectable menu, creatively crafted by COD Culinary, is inspired by favorite recipes from our GardenWorks clients and community of growers.
