Description

Harvard OSTLC: Immigration Issues in Education
Thursday, September 28th & October 5th
8:00 – 1:30

What challenges do undocumented and immigrant children face in U.S. classrooms today? What challenges do schools and community programs face as they strive to educate undocumented and immigrant students? In this two day workshop, OST educators will explore these questions, as well as gain a better understanding of the needs and experiences of immigrant students in their programs. Facilitated by Roberto Gonzalez, Professor of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and author of Lives in Limbo: Undocumented and Coming of Age in America, participants will discuss best practices and gain resources on how to enable undocumented and immigrant students to be successful in school and beyond.

Workshop begins at 8:30 with breakfast available at 8:00. Lunch will also be provided after the workshop from 12:30 – 1:30.
