Event Information
Description
Harrop Industries Facility Tour and Presentation:
For nearly 100 years, Columbus, OH based Harrop Industries has been accumulating a wealth of knowledge and experience in the design, fabrication, and servicing of industrial kilns for thermal processing of ceramic products. In addition to the box kilns and tunnel kilns one would expect from a kiln manufacturer, Harrop’s range of expertise includes the turnkey delivery of site-built brick factories, tape casting equipment for the fabrication of electronic substrates, and rotary kilns for continuous processing of powders. Harrop is known for its high level of service, including field service technicians to help with startups, annual maintenance, and repairs. Harrop searches new technologies, such as microwave-assisted sintering and the processing of carbon-based materials, with industrial partners. Harrop also has an extensive toll firing capability where customers can outsource firing of experimental, developmental, and pilot-scale quantities of material. The presentation will include a brief look at Harrop’s history as well as current capabilities, products and services. On the tour, visitors will see projects under construction in the fabrication shop as well as active kilns in the toll firing area.
