The Skinny:
NYC comedian Harmon Leon (Vice, This American Life) – lives a double life. ‘On-Stage Harmon’ – is very confident and shows no fear. ‘Off-Stage Harmon’ has anxiety and feels awkward ordering a kabab at a takeaway. But the therapy that he has found to feel normal – is coming on stage and doing “The Jokes.”
A multimedia extravaganza and nod to Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape – Harmon dives deep into his love/hate relationship with the world of comedy, only to realize that ‘The Jokes’ saved his soul.
An Edinburgh veteran, Harmon has had sold out comedy shows around their world, including The Kennedy Center, Montreal’s Just for Laughs, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
“I was reminded of the way Spalding Gray would present his great work” NY Theater Guide
'Weird. Wildly original and completely incomprehensible' ***** (Age, Melbourne).
“Leon takes a risk with his comedy and audiences should too” ***** (Adelaide Advertiser)
“This was the kind of risky performance the Fringe is supposed to be about" (Rip It Up/Australia)
