Leslie: "I am a driven educator with a hobby and passion for science, technology, engineering, adn math (S.T.E.M) education. I have a bachelor's degree in Child and Family studies and have taught for 7 years at the Kindergarten through 3rd grade level. I understand that science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering is the basic designs of roads and bridges, but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes. Mathematics is in every occupation and in every activity we do in our lives. I believe that when children are given the opportunity to explore STEM-related concepts, children will develop an interest in how things work. In early 2017, I combined my career and hobby to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning!"

Orlando: "Hello there! My name is Orlando. I graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I started my career as a Project Coordinator where I coordinated the design, manufacturing and implementation of fogging systems. I then moved on to become a Project Engineer for the leader in corrosion monitoring systems. I am constantly challenging myself to learn new technology. I have high interest in coding, app development, and robotics.

I am a huge advocate for STEM Education. I believe that children are natural engineers. I want to inspire children in our community to explore STEM and show them that it is a fun and rewarding experience."

What inspires you?

"I am inspired by a class room full of students who are curious about the world!"
