About this event
Learning Objectives:Training on how to prevent workplace harassment is now mandatory for almost all California employers (five [5] or more employees), and California Employers Association is here to help with Harassment Prevention Training that meets California’s legal requirement.
This course is a 2-hour instructor-led session where employees will engage in discussions on all forms of sexual harassment (verbal, visual, and physical). Other types of prohibited harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and abusive conduct will also be covered in an interactive format.
Supervisors will learn how to recognize problems and about their responsibility in the prevention of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and abusive conduct. Topics include reporting, bystander intervention, investigating and resolving complaints, parameters of confidentiality, and practical tips on how to stay out of trouble and keep your workplace harassment-free.
In the past, only California employers with 50 or more employees were required to provide sexual harassment prevention training—and only to supervisors. Effective 1/1/19, SB1343 requires all California employers with five (5) or more employees to provide harassment prevention training. Harassment training must be conducted every two years, so if you trained your team in 2020, 2023 is your training year.
(New employees must be trained within six (6) months of hire or promotion to a supervisory position.)
