Happy Hour is a philosophy group that discusses different aspects of happiness in our lives and in the community.
This month we talk about the relationships that we have and the happiness that we have within them. This is relationship with family, friends, and ourselves. Are you happy in your relationships? Are you happy with yourself? What actions lead to happiness or contentment?
Philosophy is the pursuit of wisdom. Each person has their own stories and wisdom gained through experience and reflection.
We are inviting people, regardless of education or philosophy background, to engage in a monthly community discussion on varying aspects and thoughts of happiness.
This is a group where people can connect with new people, share their ideas and thoughts, and these larger social issues on the topic of happiness. We believe that through this social discussion group, we can explore new perspectives and understand our community, and our world, better.
We do provide a list of suggested questions at the beginning of each meeting, this is only to provide a framework for discussion, but does they are also not required to answer or discuss. There will also provide a few articles that we will recommend reading prior to the meeting that relate to the topic. However, we do not require that people read these articles. It is simply extra reading for those that would like it.
We will occasionally feature a guest host that works in a field related to the topic, or has a unique perspective to share and discuss.
We meet the last Wednesday of every month at 6pm, starting September 2016 and ending September 2017.
