Event description

Description

Most humans are constantly seeking happiness for themselves and their loved ones. The human brain is constantly searching backwards (recalling past nostalgic or traumatic memories) and forwards (Hoping for the best or fearing the worse). Dr. Moshe Talmon from the BA in Liberal Arts will focus on happiness in the here and now as the best way to increase our happiness in our past-present and future.

We live longer, we fight less, we produce much more. Healthy, happy life is within our grasp. And yet, for so many, in poor and prosperous societies alike, all this good seems to slip through the fingers, which occasionally clench into a raging fist. Is it true that the better we have fared, the more discontent we have become, and if so, why is it so, and what are the implications? Dr. Uriel Aluf from the MA in Security and Diplomacy will reveal the answers.
