Event description

Description

This documentary film, Hans Hofmann: Artist/Teacher, Teacher/Artist, by Madeline Amgott or Amgott Productions and narrated by Robert De Niro is a joyous and colorful one-hour journey into the life of an amazing first-generation Abstract Expressionist whose influence on the art world is immeasurable. Through interviews with Frank Stella, Red Grooms, and other noted artists, writers, curators, and friends, the film goes beyond biography to become an explanation of modern art itself. The screening is a public program for Hans Hofmann: Works on Paper.

Free for members, $5 for nonmembers
