Event description

Description

Dr. Michael Hanna, a respected professor, mentor and communications practitioner served the University of South Alabama and the Mobile, Ala. community for more than 25 years. Hanna served as chair of the Department of Communication for five years, co-authored six textbooks and received numerous awards, including “Best Faculty Member” for outstanding service to USA international students.

This benefit concert presents Roman Street and celebrates the memory of Hanna. All proceeds benefit the Michael S. Hanna Endowed Communication Scholarship. It is open to full-time communication majors enrolled at USA.

Roman Street is an internationally trained instrumental band specializing in improvisational fusion of Classical, Gypsy and Contemporary Jazz, Latin, and Nuevo Flamenco. They keep it simple—the beautifully organic sound of acoustic instruments played by talented people who love what they are doing.
