Thirty years ago, Patrick Morrissy and a group of clergy and community leaders founded HANDS. The mission then is the same as it is now, “to ensure that the neighborhoods of Orange and East Orange remain good places to raise a family”. On December 7th, we’ll be honoring Pat during our Annual Community Leadership Awards which coincides with the conclusion of our year-long HANDS 30th Anniversary celebration. Reaching this milestone has a lot to do with generous support, and you are an important part of our accomplishments.
It was in 1986 that we set out to find ways to keep our urban neighborhoods from the downward cycle plaguing cities nationally. Our approach has evolved and been refined over the years and our methods have yielded impactful results. In the end, our success in creating great neighborhoods depends on the people we collaborate with sharing our vision and commitment to raising the quality of community life.
The celebration is a wonderful opportunity to hear the story of HANDS, its engaging leader, and partners impacting Orange over the last 30 years. There will be a short formal program, time for networking and cocktail fare that only The Appian Way’s 40 years of culinary experience can deliver.
Ticket prices range from $60 to $160 and sponsorship opportunities are available (Email: firstname.lastname@example.org to receive more information).
