Event breakdown:
- Three interactive training stations led by YES! youth staff
- Wake County Community Health Director Sue Lynn Ledford speaking on the importance of youth health and building a healthy foundation for the future
- UNC's mobile health clinic providing FREE basic health checkups
- Special spoken word performance by the Sacrificial Poets, North Carolina's premier youth poetry organization
- Prize giveaway: Xbox 360 with Kinect and iPod nano
Youth who attend can receive community service hours by bringing a form from their schools to the event to be signed by a YES! staff member.
The rally is going to be an empowering event for young leaders in the community to not only develop advocacy and leadership skills, but to stand up and say that school health is an important issue!
