Description

University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF-IFAS) Extension Levy County host hands-on grafting workshop.

Workshop facilitators Bill Alexander, Wally Mathis & Frank Vande Linde will share tips and demonstrate grafting techniques. After graduating with forestry degree, Bill Alexander was recruited by Brunswick Pulp and Paper Company. Bill and wife, Marilyn were long-time Chiefland residents.

Wally Mathis brings a wealth of knowledge and practical tips for successful grafting. The plant you graft will be yours to keep. The edible (deciduous) persimmon scion is grafted to native persimmon rootstock.

Frank Vande Linde has fifty years of grafting experience with Brunswick Pulp and Paper Company, developing superior slash, loblolly and long leaf pine trees.
